About Petra

Petra McCauley is a University of Washington-trained and board-certified doctor of physical therapy with post-graduate residency/fellowship training from the Ola Grimsby Institute. She received the designation of Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) in 2011. She finds great joy in learning and growth; most recently trained in the STOTT Pilates method from Pacific Northwest Pilates. Petra considers her patients her greatest teachers, and is passionate about creating a model of practice that allows for healing, growth, and a continuity of clinical care that goes beyond a physical therapy visit, but rather a lifelong partnership. 

Now 17 years into her practice, she has grown as a provider and person.  Petra is a mother to 4 children, a wife, a daughter and sister; a colleague and community member, all roles that have shaped her.  Her vision has expanded and has shown her how beautifully different we all are and how differently we experience the world and space around us.   What brings us joy and what brings us healing is equally unique to each of us.   She recognizes how challenging, yet important, it is to prioritize individual health and wellness needs.  In her clinical studio, she is deeply rooted in fostering an environment within which she can deliver one-on-one personalized care by utilizing her manual skills, empowering her patients in education and understanding of each injury, and creating support and home programs that are specific to the vastly unique presentation of each patient.

Petra has a love for family, travel, and seeking new adventures. From skiing at Mission Ridge to boating in Lake Chelan, visiting family in the Czech Republic (her home country), to discovering new experiences in Europe. This season has her on sports fields and courts all around Washington with her children, and she is grateful for her health and ability to keep up.
